From Dark & Dated to Bright & Beautiful: My Kitchen Transformation ✨

When we first moved into our home, the kitchen felt heavy, dark, and outdated. The cabinets were an old finish that sucked the light out of the room, and the backsplash didn’t do much to brighten things up. I knew right away this would be the space I’d tackle first—after all, the kitchen is the heart of the home.

After weeks of planning, a few messy days of demo, and lots of paint samples, I finally have the kitchen I always envisioned: fresh, bright, and modern with white cabinets and a clean, timeless backsplash. It feels like a completely different space—light now bounces around the room, and the energy is so uplifting.

The difference still amazes me every time I walk in. The room feels bigger, cleaner, and so much more welcoming.

Design Choices I Made

• White Cabinets: Painting the cabinets white instantly modernized the room and gave it that bright, airy look.

• Subway Tile Backsplash: Classic and timeless, the white backsplash ties everything together.

• Updated Hardware: I swapped out old knobs for sleek, modern pulls—it’s like jewelry for the kitchen!

• Lighting: Better light fixtures really made the white pop and changed the overall feel.
